MedFlight is available to respond to calls for service 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. Our flight team consists of 12 flight medics and 4 pilots on a rotating schedule with daily operations staffed with 2 flight medics and 1 pilot.

Our highly trained flight medics undergo specialized training before becoming a member of the MedFlight team. All flight medics hold Basic Life Support, Advanced Cardiac Life Support, Pediatric Advanced Life Support and Pre-Hospital Trauma Life Support licenses. In addition, medical staff undergo rigorous advanced airway training bi-monthly to provide Rapid Sequence Airway (RSA) interventions in the field. Our flight medics provide pre-hospital trauma life support to patients with a full complement of non-invasive monitoring resources including, electrocardiograms, pulse oximetry, and end-tidal C02. In addition, flight medics can provide ventilatory support via invasive or non-invasive airways. MedFlight can transport two patients, as well as three crew members simultaneously.

Our pilots are all highly trained with an average flight time experience of nearly 5000 hours.  The pilots are required to have an FAA Instrument Certificate and are required to undergo yearly training and testing under the strict guidelines outlined in FAA Part 135 rules.  All pilots are trained and evaluated utilizing ANVIS-9 Night Vision Goggles.  This tool allows for a greater safety margin while operating the aircraft at night.

MedFlight maintenance is performed by our highly skilled and experienced maintenance team which consists of a Director of Maintenance and mechanics.  They perform daily inspections on the aircraft as well as any scheduled and unscheduled maintenance.  All tasks are performed under the guidelines outline in the FAA Part 135 regulations and the manufacturer's technical publications.

Collier County MedFlight is a CAMTS (The Commission on Accreditation of Medical Transport Services) accredited service.
