Advisory Board Vacancies

The Collier County Board of County Commissioners is seeking applications for positions on several advisory committees. Members of committees must reside and be registered to vote in Collier County. Scroll to the bottom of this page for instructions on how to apply.

The Animal Services Advisory Board has two vacancies, in the following categories: animal rights group representative, and veterinarian or vet tech. This seven-member board is tasked to make recommendations to the Board of County Commissioners on the facilities, programs, and services of Collier County Domestic Animal Services. Terms are four years. 

The Bayshore Beautification MSTU Advisory Committee has one vacancy. Applicants must be a permanent resident or owner of commercial property within the MSTU. This 7 member committee assists the BCC in carrying out the purposes of providing curbing, watering facilities, plantings and maintenance of the median strips of roadways within the MSTU; providing traffic calming improvements; and beautification and maintenance of other areas within the MSTU.  Members will prepare and recommend an itemized budget to the Board of County Commissioners. Terms are four years.

The Bayshore/Gateway Triangle Local Redevelopment Advisory Board has one vacancy, in the following category: Davis Boulevard business owner. This nine member board assists in the implementation of the redevelopment plan for the Bayshore/Gateway Triangle area. Terms are three years. 

The Black Affairs Advisory Board has one vacancy. This nine member committee identifies and evaluates problems unique to the Black Community, reviews and recommends ways to ensure open communication between minorities and Collier County Government and provides periodic reports to the Board of County Commissioners. Terms are four years.

The Coastal Storm Risk Management Feasibility Study Advisory Committee has two vacancies: one for a resident of Commission District 3, and one for an at-large member. This seven member committee was created to assist the Board of County Commissioners in identifying issues relating to the Collier County Coastal Storm Risk Management (CSRM) Feasibility Study being undertaken by the Army Corps of Engineers, and to provide a forum for public participation and feedback relating to the CSRM Feasibility Study. The committee shall sunset July 26, 2025, unless further extended by the BCC.

The Code Enforcement Board has a vacancy for an alternate member. This seven member board with two alternates is composed of individuals representing the occupations of architect, business owner, engineer, general contractor, subcontractor and realtor, who are considered on the basis of their experience or interest in the areas of the codes and ordinances to be enforced.  Members are required to file a Form 1 Statement of Financial Interest each year with the Supervisor of Elections. Terms are 3 years.  This is a Quasi-Judicial Board.

The Contractors Licensing Board has two vacancies for consumer representatives (one of these must reside within the Naples city limits or be recommended by the Naples City Council). *Residents of Marco Island are especially encouraged to apply.* Consumer applicants should have no ties to the construction industry. This nine-member board has the power to determine the qualifications of applicants for the Contractors' Certificates of Competency, and to hold disciplinary hearings. Terms are three years.  This is a Quasi-Judicial Board.

The Golden Gate Beautification Advisory Committee has one vacancy. This five member committee advises and recommends as to the beautification and maintenance of landscape improvements within the road right of way as described by ordinance boundaries. The committee shall prepare an itemized budget of the amount of money required to carry out the business of the committee for the next fiscal year. Members must be residents of one of the following precincts: 323, 324, 325, 326, 327, and part of 322. Terms are four years.

The Golden Gate City Economic Development Zone Advisory Board has three vacancies. Applicants must either be residents of Golden Gate City, or represent business and commercial interests in the Golden Gate City Economic Development Zone. This seven-member committee was formed for the purpose of advising the BCC concerning policies and programs to attract businesses or industries to the Economic Development Zone, and reviewing and making recommendations on applications for funding through the Trust Fund. Terms are two years.

The Historic/Archaeological Preservation Board has one vacancy. Applicants shall have demonstrated interest in the field of historical and archaeological preservation, with expertise in one of the following categories: 1) History; 2) Archaeology; 3) Real Estate, Land Development, or Finance; 4) Architecture, Engineering, or Construction; 5) Law or Urban Planning; or 6) citizen-at-large. This seven member committee is vested with the power, authority, and jurisdiction to designate, regulate, and administer historical and archaeological resources in Collier County. Terms are three years.

The Immokalee Beautification MSTU Advisory Committee has two vacancies, and one additional seat which expires in September. Applicants must own a business or commercial property in the MSTU, or must represent a non-profit operating in the MSTU.  This seven-member committee assists the Board of County Commissioners in the business affairs of the Immokalee Beautification Taxing District, and prepares and recommends an itemized budget to carry out the business of the district for each fiscal year.  Terms are four years.

The Infrastructure Surtax Citizen Oversight Committee has a vacancy for a resident of Commission District 4. Applicants should have background and experience related to financial or business management. This committee provides citizen review of the County’s expenditure of the proceeds from the Collier County and Municipal Infrastructure One-Cent Sales Surtax. Terms are two years.

The Lely Golf Estates Beautification Advisory Committee has one vacancy. This five member committee prepares and recommends an itemized budget for the Lely Golf Estates Beautification Municipal Service Taxing Unit and aids and assists the Board of County Commissioners in carrying out the services of the taxing unit. Members must reside within the boundaries of the municipal service taxing unit. Terms are four years.

The Public Art Committee has three vacancies. Applicants should have background and experience related to the visual arts, with preference given to members of local arts organizations, architects, planners, and working artists. This seven-member committee was formed to serve as a forum for advancing public art in Collier County, and to make recommendations to the Board of County Commissioners in matters relating to public art policies, issues, programs, and plans for the benefit of the citizens of Collier County. Terms are two years.

The Public Transit Advisory Committee has two vacancies. Applicants are sought in the categories of:  transportation and planning professionals, health care services, and transit riders. This seven-member committee makes recommendations to the Board of County Commissioners in matters related to transit policies, issues, programs and plans to provide mass transit services to the citizens of Collier County. Terms are three years.

The Radio Road Beautification Advisory Committee has three vacancies. This five-member committee aids and assists the BCC in carrying out the purposes of providing curbing, watering facilities, plantings and maintenance of the median areas as set forth in Ordinance No. 96-84. The committee shall recommend work programs and priorities to the County Administrator. Members shall be permanent residents within the MSTU.  Terms are four years.

The East of 951 Ad Hoc Advisory Committee is receiving applications. This committee was established to assist the Board of County Commissioners in identifying issues relating to the geographic area lying east of CR 951 (Collier Boulevard) and north of I-75 (Alligator Alley), and to provide a forum for the citizens of this area to identify and discuss issues facing their community. The committee is composed of five regular members and two alternate members who represent a broad base of residents and business and property owners within the targeted geographic area. This committee shall sunset on August 15, 2025, unless further extended by the BCC.
