The Affordable Housing Density Bonus Program is for moderate, low and very low income housing using the density bonuses which allow an increase in the number of residential dwelling units per acre allowed on property proposed for development.  This decreases cost of land and development per unit.

The Affordable Housing Density Bonus Program consists of an Affordable Housing Density Bonus Rating System and an Affordable Housing Density Bonus Monitoring Program.

The purpose of the Affordable Housing Density Bonus Rating System is to provide increased residential densities to developers who guarantee that a portion of their housing development will be affordable by households of moderate, low or very low income, thus expanding housing opportunities for these households throughout the unincorporated County. The purpose of the Affordable Housing Density Bonus Monitoring Program is to provide assurance that the program is properly implemented, monitored, and enforced, and that useful information on affordable housing may be collected.

Expedited Permit Processing: Expedited permit processing is available as an incentive to builders, developers, etc., for the creation of affordable housing. In an effort to provide affordable housing, guidelines were established to provide expeditious processing of development orders and permits which specifically address affordable housing needs.
