Any property acquired by Conservation Collier is required to have a management plan.

An Interim Management Plan is developed within the first 6 months from the date of acquisition. Interim Management Plans are concerned with basic items like removal of invasive exotics and trash, establishing site security, developing management partnerships and planning for public access. This plan shall be submitted to the Land Acquisition Advisory Committee for approval and upon approval, the plan shall be submitted to the Board of County Commissioners for final approval and shall be implemented by the County Manager, or their designee, pursuant to the Board's direction. Interim Management Plans shall not be implemented for more than 3 years after the acquisition of the property. Prior to the expiration of the 3 years, either a new management plan shall be implemented, or, by affirmative action of the Board, the interim plan shall continue.

A Final Management Plan, with required review and updating every 10 years, shall be prepared, with review and input of the Land Acquisition Advisory Committee, for each property acquired by Conservation Collier which shall:

• Identify such management activities as are necessary to preserve, enhance, restore, conserve, maintain, or monitor the resource, as appropriate; and
• Identify such uses as are consistent with the preservation, enhancement, restoration, conservation, and maintenance of the resource; and
• Estimate the annual costs of managing the project.

Public meetings are held when a new plan is developed or an existing plan is updated. Public comment and participation are invited and welcomed!
